In six months, prosecutors suppressed more than 2.8 million violations, the rights of almost 1.2 million Russian citizens were protected, and 2.8 trillion rubles were recovered in favor of public entities and vulnerable categories. This was announced on Thursday, July 31, by the press service of the Russian Prosecutor General's Office.

"The main priorities in oversight work, which were determined by the decision of the annual expanded board with the participation of the head of state, remain relevant as before. We still know the pain points of all regions. An indicator of the effective influence of the prosecutor's authority on the state of legality is the prompt, systematic overcoming of problems within the framework of supervisory powers, within the framework of the law," Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov said during an operational meeting to summarize the work of the agency's bodies in the first half of 2025.

He also said that it is important to understand in detail the causes of violations in each case, "especially when they affect the rights and interests of a significant number of our citizens and have not been eliminated for a long time."

Special attention was paid to the issues of supervision of the restoration of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions. It clarifies that the most important task remains to provide everything necessary for the participants of the special military operation (SVO) and their families.

The ministry stressed that "there are cases of formalism, citizens are denied combat payments and benefits, social guarantees, including veteran status." It is also indicated that in a number of regions, separate mechanisms for supporting defenders of the Fatherland have not yet been developed, despite instructions from Russian President Vladimir Putin. In this regard, the top officials of 20 subjects have already been informed about the need to establish additional payments for injuries.

In addition, the meeting pointed to delays in the construction and reconstruction of production facilities in a number of regions — in some cases, readiness does not reach 50%. Prosecutors have been instructed to respond to the facts of delays in construction.

The meeting also touched upon the issue of support for large families and people with disabilities. The Prosecutor General called for increased supervision over the provision of appropriate infrastructure, as well as to pay attention to the pace of formation of land plots and compliance with the order.

One of the acute issues remains the problem of providing housing for orphaned children. It is reported that "despite the positive dynamics, the number of orphans in need of housing and children left without parental care is over 180 thousand people." In this regard, the prosecutor's office has been instructed to strengthen control over the efficiency of spending funds and the quality of housing being purchased.

"After completing the main stages of entrance examinations at universities, prosecutors were instructed to make sure that all the shortcomings revealed during the USE were eliminated in a timely manner," the message adds.

On June 20, Krasnov noted the need to simplify doing business in Russia. According to him, excessive licenses and certificates are becoming an obstacle for young entrepreneurs. Krasnov suggested creating reliable support mechanisms for grant recipients and continuing the inventory of licensing procedures.
