Chita Nature Park will be turned into a specially protected area
In Transbaikalia, the Chitinsky Bor Nature Park is being transformed into a specially protected natural area. An environmental and economic justification will be developed in the near future. The corresponding agreement was signed by the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization Zapovednoe Zabaikalie and the Institute of Natural Resources of Ecology and Cryology of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
According to ChitaMedia news agency, the transformation became possible thanks to the help of local residents. In less than 1 year, they raised funds for this project. It is planned to start preparing the necessary documents for the establishment of a protected natural area. The goal is to preserve the unique territory.
The agency clarifies: in order to protect the Chita suburb from deforestation, back in early July, residents of Chita needed to collect another 0.5 million rubles. The city authorities wanted to build up the territory along the bypass highway, from the Severny microdistrict to the Sosnovy Bor microdistrict.
Earlier it was reported that Rospotrebnadzor examined water samples from reservoirs in which residents of the Trans-Baikal Territory like to swim. It turned out that the water does not meet sanitary standards in nine reservoirs, including Kenon and Arakhlei lakes.
