Russia and Niger sign memorandum on cooperation in nuclear field
Rosatom State Corporation and the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Niger have signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of peaceful uses of atomic energy. This was announced on July 28 by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Energy.
"During today's meeting, an important memorandum of cooperation in the field of peaceful atom was signed. Our task is not just to participate in the extraction of uranium, we must create an entire system for the development of a peaceful atom in Niger," Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev said in the department's Telegram channel.
He stressed that the memorandum implies cooperation in the field of construction of nuclear power plants (NPP), nuclear medicine and joint training of specialists in this field.
Earlier, on June 12, the Russian government signed an order on signing an agreement on cooperation in the field of peaceful atom between Russia, Mali and Burkina Faso. Russia will help these countries in the construction of nuclear power plants and research nuclear reactors. Russia will also provide nuclear fuel.
