- Kozlov noted the expansion of logistical ties between the Russian Federation and the DPRK
The expansion of logistical ties between Russia and the DPRK is proceeding in all directions, which contributes to the maintenance of deep friendly relations between the states. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation Alexander Kozlov, who heads the intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation between the two countries on Monday, July 28.
"Work is underway in all areas related to logistics. Freight and passenger rail services are increasing, including directly between Moscow and Pyongyang. On April 30, the construction of an automobile bridge across the Tumannaya and Tuman-gan Rivers was launched. I want to thank once again all the people who, with their daily work, do everything to ensure that we become more friends and communicate more often, and we have such opportunities," TASS quoted him as saying.
The minister stated this during his speech at a ceremony in honor of the arrival of the first direct flight from Moscow to Pyongyang. According to the politician, the signing of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement in 2024 has become a solid foundation on which relations between the Russian Federation and the DPRK are being built.
"Today we are once again proving in practice the commitment of our friendly countries to fraternal relations. Over the past two years, we have done a lot of work to expand the logistical capabilities of our countries," Kozlov stressed.
The Boeing 777-200ER, making its first direct flight from Moscow to Pyongyang, successfully landed at 09:30 local time (03:30 Moscow time).
Earlier, on July 27, it was reported that the Boeing 777-200ER took off from Sheremetyevo Airport. The flight was operated by Nordwind Airlines. The aircraft has a capacity of 440 passengers. The destination was Sunan International Airport.
Prior to that, on July 14, the Russian Ministry of Transport announced that direct flights between Russia and the DPRK would be launched on July 27. It is planned that such flights will be carried out once a month to generate steady demand and load flights.
