The incident occurred on Saturday morning on one of the busiest hiking trails leading to the shrine. It is specified that among the victims — 20 men, eight women and seven children. Two of the injured are in critical condition, while the rest are being treated at a regional hospital.
"At first glance, the incident was apparently caused by a rumor about a power line rupture. A thorough investigation is currently underway to determine the exact causes," the article said.
After the tragedy, Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) conducted an inspection of the entire infrastructure. Following the inspection, UPCL stated that there were no electrical leaks or malfunctions. All lines in the temple area are isolated and pose no danger.
