The first acoustic rehearsal was held at the new Sirius Concert Center
On July 26, the first acoustic rehearsal took place in the new concert and theater complex on the federal territory of Sirius. The unique sound characteristics of the venue were appreciated by the musicians of the Mariinsky Theatre and the conductor, People's Artist of Russia Valery Gergiev.
"The theater was struck by the fact that the acoustics are also very good for symphonic programs. Believe me, not all the great theaters in the world have such acoustics that can be predicted," said Georgiev.
He stressed that even in the current state of the hall, "everything is perfectly audible from anywhere — the slightest rustle, the flight of a mosquito."
Special attention was paid to the sound of the violin during testing. Honored Artist of Russia Pavel Milyukov noted that every detail of the structure works for acoustics.
"The walls, the curves of which are not repeated, and even the Japanese cypress seats — everything is made for a bright sound," Milyukov said.
The acoustics of the hall were developed by Yasuhisa Toyota, a leading specialist in his field. The architects and builders implemented the project manually.
"Each form is individual. It was done manually. If you look closely at the shapes, the angles and degrees are different," said Wu Xiaofei, General Director of the Russian representative office of the Chinese Commercial and Industrial Company.
The total area of the facility is about 50 thousand square meters. m. It includes a large hall with 1.2 thousand seats, a chamber hall with 500 seats, several rehearsal rooms, recording studios and a universal lobby suitable for exhibition activities.
"We have created a high-level hall, we have created the same high-level music school. Together, it will show our children and teachers the opportunity to develop a unique career," said Elena Shmeleva, Chairman of the Board of the Sirius Foundation, Head of the Talent and Success Foundation.
The newest complex is scheduled to host its first full-fledged performances in the fall. One of the world's best concert venues is expected to be fully completed in October this year.
Natalia Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of the capital, announced on July 14 that applications for participation in the international composer competition had begun in Moscow. The participants will compete in two categories. Works for academic large choir and symphony orchestra will be evaluated in the "Large Form", and works for mixed academic choir a cappella will be evaluated in the "Small form".
