Moscow region has won a double victory at the first Russian Team Golf Championship

From July 20 to 26, 2025, the first ever Russian Team Golf Championship was held at the Forest Hills Golf Course in the Moscow Region. The tournament was organized by the Russian Golf Association with the support of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation and a number of partners. Following the results of the competition, the teams of the Moscow region won both the men's and women's team competitions, thus completing the "golden double". This is reported by the <url> portal.

32 teams took part in the competition — 16 men's and women's teams each. Each team consisted of four players, and the sports program included both individual qualifying rounds in the stroke play format and playoff matches in the match play format. This allowed the participants to demonstrate both their personal gaming skills and the level of teamwork and strategic interaction.

The Moscow Region — 1 men's team (Egor Yeroshenko, David Nagiyev, Andrey Pavlov, Ivan Striganov) confidently beat the Moscow —1 team 3-0 in the final match. The Moscow Region —1 women's team, consisting of Alisa Molokanova, Ekaterina Malakhova, demonstrated a similar result. Anna Schulze and Alina Shchepteva defeated the Moscow — 3 team, also with a final score of 3:0.

The format of the championship has become an important step in the development of the team trend in Russian golf, which is traditionally focused on individual competitions, the experts of the portal emphasized. The new approach has focused on the preparation of teams, which is in line with international trends and contributes to the strengthening of sports culture within clubs and regions.

As golf experts point out, the strong performance of the Moscow Region golfers confirms the high quality of the athletes' training in the region. In recent years, the Moscow region has shown steady growth in results in national tournaments, which has become possible thanks to the systematic work of sports schools, infrastructure development and support from regional authorities.

The tournament organizers noted the high level of the competition and expressed their intention to continue developing the team format within the framework of the national calendar. In particular, the possibility of including such competitions in the annual cycle and expanding the geography of tournaments is being considered.

The championship also attracted the attention of partners and sponsors: among those who supported the event were the golf clubs Forest Hills, Pestovo and Peterhof, Aeroflot, Pharmstandard and United Metallurgical Company.

The team championship has become not only a sporting event, but also a significant contribution to the popularization of golf in Russia, increasing the recognition of the discipline and stimulating interest in it from young people and potential investors, the organizers emphasized.
