In Saratov, July 26 was declared a day of mourning in connection with a gas explosion in a multi-storey building and the subsequent collapse of the building's structures. This was announced on July 25 by Roman Busargin, Governor of the Saratov Region.
"In connection with the tragic events in an apartment building on Blinova Street in Saratov, it was decided to declare a day of mourning in the region on Saturday, July 26," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
It is noted that during this day the flags of the Saratov region and municipalities will be lowered at half-mast in the city. In addition, it is intended to cancel all entertainment programs and events on TV channels and in cultural institutions.
The explosion in a multi-storey building in Saratov occurred on July 25. A criminal case has been opened into the incident regarding the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements. A regional state of emergency has been declared in the Saratov Region. According to Busargin, there may still be people under the rubble.
According to the latest data, the death toll from the explosion and collapse of house structures has increased to six people. The head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, Alexander Kurenkov, instructed to promptly transfer payments to the victims, and also expressed the ministry's readiness to transport the wounded to Moscow by departmental flight, if necessary.
