Izvestia's digital social project has been shortlisted for the Apostol Media Award

Special project "BESLAN. The pain of the whole country" was awarded by the jury of the award in the nomination "Best special project".

The Izvestia project is about one of the most terrible pages in the history of modern Russia - the Beslan tragedy, dedicated to its 20th anniversary. It contains documentary materials, historical information and eyewitness accounts.

"BESLAN. The pain of the whole country" tells in detail about the background of the tragedy, the seizure of the school, the course of the hostage rescue operation and about the people whose actions became an example of courage. The task of the project authors was to create a source of complete and reliable information about the events of September 1-3, 2004 in Beslan, to tell about it all the most important things so that the tragedy would not be forgotten, and the next generations would know about it, its victims and heroes.

The winners of the Apostol Award will be announced on August 7, 2025.
