There have been 326 road accidents in Russia over the past 24 hours.

Over the past day, 326 road accidents have occurred on Russian roads, in which 37 people were killed and 399 injured. 31 people were killed, including passengers and drivers. This was reported to Izvestia on July 25 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

13 accidents involving buses were recorded, in which one person was killed, and 20 more road users, including five children, needed medical help. Seven bus accidents were caused by traffic violations committed by drivers of other vehicles.

So, in the Stavropol Territory, on 146 km of the federal highway A-167 Kochubey – Mineralnye Vody, a 35-year-old car driver did not provide an advantage in traffic when leaving a secondary road onto the main road and collided with an intercity bus with eight passengers in the cabin. The culprit of the collision was killed in the incident, seven passengers of the bus were injured and, after medical assistance, were sent for outpatient treatment.

As a result of 65 accidents, 24 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and 41 outside their area of operation, six pedestrians were killed, and 61 more were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured were 15 child pedestrians, 10 of whom were injured when crossing the roadway outside the designated areas.

57 accidents involving minors were registered, in which 68 young road users were injured, including 25 passengers, 10 cyclists and 14 motor transport drivers. Two teenagers were killed, one of whom was a passenger in a car, the other was driving a motorcycle. So, in one of the villages of the Chelyabinsk region, a 43-year-old driver at an unregulated intersection, when turning left, did not provide an advantage in traffic due to his own inattention and collided with a motorcycle moving towards him, driven by a 15-year-old schoolboy in a motorcycle helmet. The young motorcyclist died.

In the Stavropol Territory, a 25-year-old driver lost control of a passenger car at speed, drove off the road and crashed into a tree. As a result of the accident, both he and his 14-year-old brother, who was sitting in the back seat without using a seat belt, died.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has prepared a draft "Strategy for improving road safety"

On the eve of the weekend, the State Traffic Inspectorate called on parents to strictly monitor and stop attempts by children and teenagers to get behind the wheel on their own, as well as to exclude for them the possibility of accessing the keys of cars, mopeds and motorcycles, prohibiting the management of cars and motor vehicles without the appropriate right and driving skills.

Lack of control over children's behavior and leisure activities, especially in the evening, often leads to injuries or deaths of young road users. Administrative liability in the amount of 30 thousand rubles is provided for providing the opportunity to drive motor vehicles for children who do not have a driver's license of the appropriate category.

Motorists should be extremely careful when passing intersections, especially unregulated ones. You should not rush to "skip" them faster, thereby interfering with other road users. You should be collected and careful, leaving yourself plenty of time to react adequately to a possible change in the traffic situation at any moment.

"We recommend that motorists strictly follow the rules of the road and driving discipline. If you are driving a vehicle, correctly assess its dimensions and speed, condition and width of the roadway, terrain and the possibility of skidding. Driver's discipline is especially necessary if there are child passengers in your car, who should be transported in compliance with all applicable safety requirements," Police Colonel Anton Belan, deputy head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of Child traffic Injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, told Izvestia.

The head of the Russian State Traffic Inspectorate, Mikhail Chernikov, in an interview with Izvestia, spoke about how the new national project will reduce accidents on the roads.

On July 24, it was reported that 100 people died in road accidents in Moscow in the first half of 2025. This is 32% less than in the first six months of 2024, when 147 people died in road accidents.
