The State Duma proposed an annual payment to parents of schoolchildren before September 1.

On July 25, deputies of the State Duma drafted a bill according to which parents of schoolchildren will be paid annually an amount equal to the subsistence minimum before the start of the school year.

"One of the parents residing in the territory of the Russian Federation <...> of children aged 6 to 18 years <...> as well as persons with disabilities, persons with disabilities aged 18 to 23 years <... They have the right to receive a cash payment once a year in connection with the start of the school year," the TASS news agency quotes from the bill document.

According to the law under consideration, a payment is proposed for each student in the family.

According to the agency, currently the cost of living in the country is 17,773 rubles, for the able—bodied population the cost of living will be 19,329 rubles, for pensioners — 15,250 rubles, for children - 17,201 rubles.

Earlier, on July 15, it was reported that Tula schoolchildren who scored 100 points on the Unified State Exam would receive 25 thousand rubles each. According to Lyudmila Sorokina, deputy head of the regional Ministry of Education, 62 graduates received 100 points in one subject this year. Three of them scored 100 points in two subjects at once.
