SOGAZ to pay insurance compensation after AN-24 passenger plane crash
SOGAZ Insurance Company intends to fulfill its obligations under the contract with Angara Airlines and pay the required compensation after the crash of the AN-24 passenger plane in the Amur region. This was announced on July 24 by the company's press service.
"SOGAZ expresses its deep condolences to the families and friends of the victims. The company is ready to fulfill its obligations under the insurance contract," the statement on the website says.
It is noted that the passengers of the flight were insured under the contract of compulsory insurance of the carrier's civil liability to passengers. So, the payments will amount to 2,025 million rubles for each passenger.
Earlier that day, an AN-24 passenger plane crashed 15 km from Tynda in the Amur region. The vessel followed the Khabarovsk — Blagoveshchensk —Tynda route and stopped communicating. Later, his burning fuselage was found on the ground.
According to preliminary data, all those on board the passenger plane were killed. A criminal case has been opened into the loss of communication with the aircraft. A technical malfunction and a human factor are considered as a version of the incident.
At the moment, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations has notified that rescuers have reached the crash site of the AN-24 aircraft. An operational headquarters has also been set up to deal with the consequences. A regional-level emergency regime has been introduced.
