The State Duma will consider additional payments for CTP during self-repair
A bill on additional payments for CTP for self-repair of a car may be considered in the autumn session of the State Duma. Anatoly Aksakov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Financial Market, announced plans to approve this initiative in his Telegram channel.
The Russian Union of Motor Insurers (RSA) clarified that it had previously proposed amendments to the CTP law in order to revive the practice of payments in kind.
Thus, it is assumed that the consumer will be able to offer his own station, which, in accordance with a single method of restoration repair and price guides for it, will be ready to repair the car. At the same time, the insurer will pay for the repair of the car without taking into account the wear of parts and spare parts.
Earlier, on July 21, it was reported that the State Duma proposed to introduce compensation for cars flooded due to heavy rains and affected by other extreme weather events, expanding the coverage of CTP policies. The deputies drew attention to the fact that car owners incur financial costs, but do not receive basic protection from force majeure.
