Rescuers found the body of one of the tourists who disappeared in the White Sea

The body of one of the tourists, who disappeared while kayaking in the White Sea, was allegedly discovered by rescuers. This was announced on July 23 by the State Committee of the Republic of Karelia for Ensuring the Vital Activity and Safety of the Population.

"During search and rescue operations in the Onega Bay of the White Sea, near the island of Varbaluda, the body of a man in a life jacket was found this morning. Presumably, one of the missing tourists," the committee's Telegram channel says.

It is specified that the body was lifted from the water, now it is being brought to shore. Rescuers and police officers went to the place.

Earlier, on July 20, the Russian Emergencies Ministry reported that a group of seven tourists had disappeared in Karelia. According to the agency, they went kayaking from the ridge of the islands of Kuzova in Karelia to the Solovetsky Island of the Arkhangelsk region.
