The next stage of construction of a new highway has started in Perm

Construction of the next stage of the new highway on Stroiteley Street has begun in Perm. This is reported by the government of the Perm Territory with reference to the Ministry of Construction.

A new section of the highway will be laid from Malkov Street to the Cosmonauts Highway. The road builders have already started rebuilding engineering communications and laying the foundation of the future road.

"This is stage 4.1 of the new motorway. It includes the construction of a new road and the reconstruction of an overpass along the Cosmonauts Highway," the report says.

According to the <url> news agency, due to the low height of the overpass, trucks periodically got stuck under it. Governor Dmitry Makhonin noted in his Telegram channel that the height of the facility will be increased from 2.2 m to 5.5 m, and the width from four to six lanes.

The project for the construction of a new stage of the highway also includes the construction of sidewalks and bike paths, the installation of a lighting system, a drainage system and a new storm drain. There will be seven public transport stops on the site. The construction is scheduled to be completed in 2028.

Large-scale construction of the highway began in 2019, its length will be 7.2 km. The road is designed to relieve the Communal Bridge and central streets, as well as improve the convenience of crossing the Krasavinsky Bridge.
