On July 23, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova commented on the cancellation of a concert by Russian conductor and Director General of the Bolshoi Theater Valery Gergiev in Caserta, Italy, with words from the Bible.

"It reminds me of the Bible, 'Don't throw beads in front of pigs,'" she said on Sputnik radio.
