Foreign agent Yuri Dudya was arrested in absentia in Russia

In Moscow, a court arrested blogger Yuri Dudya in absentia (included in the register of foreign agents of the Russian Federation) in a case of evading the duties of a foreign agent. This was reported on July 22 in the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of the capital.

"By a decision of the Basmanny District Court of Moscow, a preventive measure was chosen in the form of detention against Dudya Yuri Alexandrovich <...> for a period of two months from the moment of his extradition to the territory of the Russian Federation or from the moment of his detention on the territory of the Russian Federation," the Telegram channel says.

It is noted that liability is provided for under Part 2 of Article 330.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Evasion from fulfilling duties provided for by the legislation of the Russian Federation on foreign agents").

On July 1, a criminal case was opened against Dudya. The blogger was suspected under Part 2 of Article 330.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. In addition, it was clarified that during the year he was twice brought to administrative responsibility under Part 4 of Article 19.34 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of the procedure for the activities of a foreign agent").

On June 30, the prosecutor's office of the capital initiated criminal proceedings against Dudya. According to the agency, the blogger, despite violating the requirements of Russian law, continued to distribute materials in one of the messengers without indicating that they were created or distributed by a foreign agent.
