A mural in honor of Semyon Eremin, a correspondent of Izvestia News Center who died in the line of professional duty, was opened on Tuesday, July 22, on the territory of the military training center of the North Caucasus Federal University (NCFU) in Stavropol.

The participants of the ceremony laid flowers and observed a minute of silence in memory of the military commander, as well as all those who died in the special military operation. The event was attended by the Rector of NCFU Dmitry Bespalov, Chairman of the Union of Journalists of the Stavropol Territory Vadim Bakanov, teachers and fellow journalists.

Colleagues, classmates, and teachers of NCFU, of which Eremin was a graduate, recall him as a man with high moral principles. Eremin was rightfully considered one of the best military officers in Russia.

The death of Semyon Eremin became known on April 19, 2024. He was 42 years old. He died while filming a report as a result of an FPV drone attack. The military commander was injured, from which he later died.

Yeremin has been working in the special operation zone since it began in February 2022. As part of the film crew, he was one of the first to report from Volnovakha in March 2022, when Russian troops took down the Ukrainian flag at the entrance to the city. In addition, the journalist was among the first to make materials about the Lancets and the Sunbeams.
