The International Doping Testing Agency (ITA) has suspended Olympic swimming champion Penelope Oleksiak from Canada for violating the rules of the control procedure. This was reported on the organization's website.

"The athlete <...> has accepted a voluntary provisional suspension pending resolution of this matter," reads a statement released on July 18.

According to the publication, the athlete committed three violations of the procedure for providing information about her whereabouts in October 2024, notes "Газета.Ru ".

On May 26, Russian swimmer Valeria Salamatina was suspended for two years for violating anti-doping rules. It was specified that the period of ineligibility would expire on May 7, 2027.
