Russia ranks fifth in the world ranking of beer producers
Russia took the fifth place in the world ranking of beer producers, displacing Germany in the list. This was reported on July 22 by the German edition of Handelsblatt, citing data from the report of the hop producer BarthHaas.
"Russia has displaced Germany from the top five largest beer producers in the world. Although the volume of brewing in this country decreased slightly last year, production increased significantly," the article says.
According to the publication, beer production in Russia increased by 9% to 9.1 billion liters. At the same time, in Germany, the indicator fell by 1% to 8.4 billion liters. It is noted that Germany has lost its title of European champion in the production of the drink, which was awarded to the country since 2013.
So, China is currently in the first place in the rating of manufacturers, and the United States occupies the second position.
On July 3, it was reported that the Russian Federation was showing significant growth in the global ranking of leaders in the foam industry, overtaking even Germany. Despite the downward trend in beer production, domestic companies are showing growth. So, over the past year, Russia has increased volumes by 30%.
