A young man and a child drowned on Sakhalin

A young man and a child drowned near the village of Lovetskoye in the Sakhalin region on the seashore, and a criminal case was opened. This was reported on July 22 in the Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia for the region.

"According to the investigation, on July 22, 2025, a young man born in 2001 and a child born in 2013 drowned on the seashore near the Lovetskoye settlement of the Nevelsky district," the agency's website says.

They indicated that the bodies were found in the sea during search operations. A criminal case has been opened into the deaths of two people under Part 3 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing death by negligence to two or more persons").

During the investigation, experts examined the scene and interviewed witnesses. The circumstances and causes of the incident are being established.

In the village of Aidamirova in Grozny, Chechnya, on the evening of July 18, two ten-year-old girls drowned while swimming in a pond. The regional Investigative Committee clarified that the children went swimming unaccompanied by adults.
