An earthquake of magnitude 6.5 occurred off the coast of Kamchatka. This was announced on Tuesday, July 22, by the Main Directorate (GU) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Kamchatka Territory.

"Residents of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Vilyuchinsk felt it with a force of up to four points," the agency said in a Telegram post.

It is specified that the seismic event occurred 170 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The source of the tremors lay at a depth of 51 km. No casualties or damage were reported.

Earlier, on July 20, an earthquake of magnitude 5.8 was recorded off the coast of Kamchatka. The source of the tremors lay at a depth of 58.4 km. On the same day, another 5.2 magnitude earthquake was reported.
