Moldova refuses to engage in dialogue with the Russian Federation, including regarding the renunciation of neutrality, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin told Izvestia.

"Unfortunately, due to the well-known position of the Moldovan side, there is no high-level dialogue between our countries. The Moldovan side shows neither willingness nor desire for it," he said.

This is how Galuzin answered the question of whether Moscow and Chisinau are discussing the consequences of Moldova's withdrawal from its neutral status.

In mid-July, the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) announced that NATO was actively preparing to involve Moldova in a possible armed conflict with Russia. The ministry noted that in Brussels it was decided to accelerate the transformation of this country into an advanced bridgehead of the alliance on the eastern flank, taking into account the advance of the Russian Armed Forces in Ukraine.

In case of victory, Moldovan President Maia Sandu promised to cancel the country's neutral status, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

According to Galuzin, Moldova's departure from neutrality would be another step towards turning Moldova into a "second Ukraine." In his opinion, this would hardly meet the interests of the people of the republic.
