Uranium enrichment in Iran suspended after US strikes
The uranium enrichment process in Iran was suspended after the US strikes on the country's nuclear infrastructure. This was stated on July 21 by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic Abbas Araqchi in an interview with Fox News channel.
"Now it is (uranium enrichment. — Ed.) has been suspended because, yes, the destruction is serious and severe," he said.
At the same time, Araqchi added that Iran does not intend to abandon the enrichment process, which is now a "matter of national pride" of the state.
"Enrichment is very dear to us," the diplomat stressed.
Earlier, on July 19, Araqchi said that the ceasefire regime between the Islamic Republic and Israel remains extremely unstable. According to him, Iran was forced to exercise its right to self-defense after it faced aggression from Israel.
On June 24, CNN reported that the US strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities had not significantly damaged the main components of Iran's nuclear program and had only suspended work on it for several months, contrary to the statements of the American government.
