India has won three gold medals at the International Mathematical Olympiad
The Indian team won three gold medals at the 66th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) in the Australian Sunshine Coast. This was reported by The Indian Express newspaper on July 19.
It is specified that the team received a total of eight medals. In addition to the gold, India has won two silver and one bronze medals.
Currently, India is unofficially ranked seventh among the 110 participating countries of the IMO.
Earlier that day, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation reported that Russian schoolchildren had won five gold medals at the 66th MMO. Sergey Kravtsov, the country's Minister of Education, called the students' results a real sign of the quality of the Russian education system and the national mathematical school.
