A lightning bolt killed a shepherd and several animals in the Shailyk-Syrt tract in Karachay-Cherkessia. This was reported on July 19 in the Telegram channel of the Prosecutor's Office of the republic.

"According to preliminary data, on July 17, 2025, in the Shailyk-Syrt tract of the Karachay district, the corpses of a man and several animals were found, presumably as a result of exposure to an electric lightning discharge," the report says.

It is noted that the prosecutor's office took control of the establishment of the circumstances of the incident.

Earlier, on July 16, a fisherman died after being struck by lightning on the shore in the Kemerovo region. It was reported that in the village of Berezovaya Griva, three men were fishing on a toll lake, and lightning struck the shore near the reservoir. One man died, and two fishermen received medical attention.
