Ivan Voronich, a colonel of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), who was shot dead in Kiev, was involved in the explosion of the Nord Stream pipeline. This was reported on July 19 by the British newspaper The Times.

"The colonel used naval drones against the Russian Black Sea Fleet and was a deputy in the unit of Colonel Roman Chervinsky, who, according to The Washington Post, was the "coordinator" of the explosion of the Nord Stream pipeline," the newspaper writes, citing sources.

According to the publication, any of the relevant connections could have led to the colonel's death.

Voronich was shot dead on July 10. The attacker fired five well-aimed shots. Subsequently, the murderer managed to escape from the scene. Later, on July 14, two Azerbaijani citizens suspected of murdering an SBU colonel were shot dead in Ukraine during their arrest.
