Since the beginning of last year, 85 charging stations for electric buses have been assembled at the Sokolnicheskiy Wagon Repair and Construction Plant, Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow in the Moscow government for Transport and Industry, said.

According to Liksutov, today SVARZ is assembling the most modern ultrafast charging stations for electric vehicles.

"We are actively developing eco-friendly and modern transport, as instructed by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. This year, more than 40 charging stations for electric buses, which were produced at the SVARZ plant, have already been connected in the capital. We continue to expand the infrastructure to launch new routes in different areas of the city," Liksutov explained.

As the deputy mayor emphasized, Moscow was the first in Russia to build modern electric bus fleets. In 2022, the Krasnaya Pakhra electric bus fleet, the first in Russia and the largest in Europe, opened in TiNAO. Eco-friendly cars entered TiNAO routes for the first time. In the summer of 2023, the Mitino Park was opened in the north-west of the capital. At the end of 2023, the third innovative fleet of electric buses, Saltykovka, was opened. It serves routes in the east of the city.

In 2025, electric buses of the new generation KAMAZ-52222 entered the routes. As noted in the Moscow City Hall, they have become even more comfortable thanks to the redesigned interior layout, a 15% increased storage area, places for hand luggage and a modified door design. Under the contract with KAMAZ PJSC, 400 KAMAZ-52222 generation A5 electric buses are planned to be delivered this year. They are created based on the operating experience of earlier models and passenger reviews. Moscow's order to create new equipment supports employment in the regions and stimulates the development of domestic industry.
