2.8 thousand organizations and individual entrepreneurs work in the Moscow art industry. This was announced by the Mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, noting that the sphere unites such areas of creative activity as workshops and galleries, cultural spaces and project activities, as well as art education: courses, workshops and art management services to promote creative projects.

"The total annual revenue of these companies in 2024 amounted to 5.85 billion rubles,— the mayor wrote on his personal blog. "On the one hand, this is 63.5% more than in 2019, on the other hand, there are obvious great prospects for development, especially in key areas such as, for example, digital art."

Sobyanin spoke about the steps that the Moscow authorities are taking to support the art industry. He called the provision of sites a key way, including in the well-known creative clusters "Vinzavod", "Flacon", "Zotov", CTI "Fabrika" and others. The Moscow Workshops center on Lilac Boulevard was opened this year to support emerging artists, the mayor recalled. There are 35 fully equipped art studios, including painting and pottery workshops, a lecture hall and an exhibition hall.

The urban projects "Winter in Moscow", "Summer in Moscow", fairs and festivals help to introduce the public to new authors and brands, Sobyanin noted. The mayor recalled that during such events, "artists can present their works at thematic exhibitions, hold workshops for interested audiences and take part in various creative events."

The Creative Industries Agency's Art Seasons project helps representatives of the creative industry to participate in the country's largest fairs. In addition, over the past two years, the Art Factory project has been implemented in Moscow, aimed at rethinking the urban environment through contemporary art, the metropolitan mayor added.
