Tsivilev pointed to the individual approach of the Russian Federation in energy cooperation

Russia strives for an individual approach in cooperation with friendly foreign countries on energy resources. This was announced on July 16 by Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev, answering a question from Izvestia.

According to him, at a meeting of the heads of energy ministries of the BRICS countries last year, a joint statement on the approach to energy transition was adopted. It provides for a separate procedure for each country.

"Not in the way that we are offered from the point of view of green energy — to everyone, you must definitely switch to green energy. And we say that each country has its own peculiarities, its own nuances. There are different levels of economy, different natural conditions. Therefore, the justice lies in the fact that individual adjustment of the transition to providing the country's residents with affordable electricity should be done for each country," the minister explained.

He noted that the energy transition should take place without external pressure, with free access to all technologies and financial instruments.

"We have a task to solve in friendly countries — to ensure both technical and economically efficient access to electric energy for all residents, this is very important now," Tsivilev stressed.

The minister added that work with the Chinese energy industry is also continuing.

"Large Chinese companies that work in the fuel and energy complex, they actively maintain contacts with our companies, with the Ministry of Energy. I received a number of offers to visit these companies, to see how they work, what achievements they have. I will certainly take advantage of this," he concluded.
