The travel show "Where they filmed" has started, from which viewers will be able to find out where famous Russian films and TV series were shot directly, as well as get acquainted with interesting facts about these film locations.

The show was created with the support of the Institute for the Development of the Internet (ANO "IRI") and is a continuation of the interactive online project "Kinokarta Rossii", where the exact coordinates of the filming locations of the main domestic films are indicated. Presenters: Artem Tkachenko ("Vampires of the Middle lane", "Strings", "Sparta", "Outpost"), as well as the author of the project, editor-in-chief of the portal "Cinema-Theater.<url>" by Jean Prosyanov.

In the first issue, Artyom Tkachenko, a native of Kaliningrad, shows why his hometown is considered one of the most versatile filming locations in Russia. Here you can find almost any landscape — from Gothic ruins and ancient castles to Soviet streets and modern buildings.

One of the main goals of the show "Where they filmed" is not only to tell interesting facts about the filming, but also to explain to the audience in what context these places were used in various films and how they reflect the specifics of Russian cinema. In addition, the project aims to help unlock the potential of a number of regions by showing their capabilities in selecting locations for filming both historical and modern projects.

July 8 "Cinema-Theater.<url> has launched an updated map of Russia to find locations for filming. A new online platform called Kinokarta 2.0 or Kinolocation Map will become an aggregator of locations for future projects across the country.
