The State Duma approved amendments to the bill for the search for extremist materials

The State Duma Committee on State Construction approved amendments to the draft law on liability in the form of a fine of up to 5,000 rubles for searching the Internet for extremist materials and gaining access to them. This is evidenced on July 16 by data published on the website of the legislative support system from the table of amendments to the second reading recommended for adoption.

"Intentionally searching the Internet information and telecommunications network and gaining access to knowingly extremist materials included in the published federal list of extremist materials or specified in paragraph 3 of Article 1 of Federal Law No. 114-FZ of July 25, 2002 On Countering Extremist Activities, including using software and hardware means of access to information resources, information and telecommunication networks, access to which is restricted, entails the imposition of an administrative fine on citizens in the amount of 3 thousand rubles to 5 thousand rubles," the text of the publication says.
