A complete ban on the rental and use of electric scooters and other means of individual mobility (SIM) was introduced in Blagoveshchensk. This was announced on July 14 by the mayor of the city Oleg Imameev.

"Now, for any movement or placement of SIM cards on the territory of Blagoveshchensk, a fine of up to 100 thousand rubles will be imposed for each violation. This is a serious limitation, but there is no other way out," he wrote on the Telegram channel.

According to him, the decision was made due to numerous violations of security rules by SIM users. Previously, the ban was in effect only in the center of Blagoveshchensk.

On May 23, the Orel Council of People's Deputies in the legislative assembly of the Trans-Baikal Territory proposed banning the movement of electric scooters on sidewalks. As explained at the meeting of the parliament, sims will be able to move only along bike paths and roadways. A proposal was also made to increase fines for traffic violations.
