Actor Nikita Vysotsky spoke about Mitta's changing attitude towards cinema
People's Artist of Russia Alexander Mitta was a very energetic and effective person. Actor and director Nikita Vysotsky, the son of Vladimir Vysotsky, told Izvestia about this on July 14.
According to him, he had known Mitta since childhood, as he lived in the same house with him — the cinematographer always seemed to him strong, determined, creative and tireless.
"He is a very effective person who has radically changed his way and attitude to cinema several times. <...> He has absolutely accepted and managed to work in the new conditions of Russian cinema. He wrote books, taught, and was able to very easily, very organically fit into modern film production, with all its advantages and disadvantages," Vysotsky emphasized.
The actor added that Mitta also knew how to make TV series, and was not afraid of them.
"He's a master, a huge master, and I think that's the most important thing. And the fact that at the same time he is, of course, an extraordinary kind of charm, a love of life... It is very difficult to understand that he [is not] there," Vysotsky said.
According to him, the memory of the director will remain not only in his children, grandchildren and students, but also in paintings and books.
"And we will remember him, those people who remembered him, and we will even recharge anyway, even when he is no longer there," the actor concluded.
Earlier that day, People's Artist of Russia and film director Alexander Mitta passed away at the age of 93. He shot such famous films as "My friend, Kolka!", "The Tale of how Tsar Peter married a Black man", "The Crew", "Burn, Burn, my Star", the TV series "Border. Taiga novel" and many others.
