Every third student plans to move to another city for admission to the institute.
Approximately 35% of students are ready to move to another city to study, but 23% of them plan to return home after graduation. This follows from a study by the Level Group, the results of which appeared on July 15 at the disposal of Izvestia.
As for housing, 47% of respondents would prefer to live alone or with a partner, 27% are interested in co-housing, and 17% are ready to share an apartment with a friend. Despite this, only 19% of students plan to rent a place, while 33% plan to live in a room or dormitory.
"During the survey, we found out that almost a quarter (24%) of students want to save for a down payment and take out a mortgage. In this case, living in a room or dormitory, although it is an uncomfortable measure for students, allows them to free up funds and invest them in improving living conditions," the Level Group's press service said.
It is noted that the majority (65%) do not plan to move at all — they are satisfied with education in their hometown.
On January 24, Yandex Rent told Izvestia that Moscow students are ready to spend up to 80 thousand rubles a month on rental housing. Among employed young people who rent studios, the share is 21%, and the average monthly payment for housing for this category of students is 46.4 thousand rubles. At the same time, the average cost of apartments rented by both working and non-working students reaches about 58 thousand rubles.
