- Reuters reported on the possible approval of the 18th package of sanctions against Russia.
The Permanent Representatives of the European Union (EU) may agree on the 18th package of sanctions against Russia on Monday. This was reported on July 13 by the Reuters news agency, citing sources.
According to the agency, it will include a lower price ceiling for Russian oil.
"The initial price will be about $47 per barrel, based on the average price of Russian oil over the past 22 weeks, minus 15%. In addition, the price will be reviewed based on the average oil price every six months instead of the proposed three months," Reuters noted.
At the same time, Slovakia, which delayed the approval and adoption of sanctions, still expresses doubts about the plan to phase out Russian gas supplies, but accepted the conditions that were put forward.
Earlier, on July 9, Slovakia blocked the 18th package of EU sanctions against Russia. It is specified that the decision was made at a meeting of permanent representatives of the EU countries in Brussels.
