As a result of a large—scale fire in a multi-storey apartment building in Ankara, three people, including a three-month-old child, were killed, and 39 more were injured by smoke. This was reported on July 13 by the TRT Haber TV channel.

"A fire broke out in a 26-storey building in Ankara's Cankaya district. According to preliminary data, three people were killed, including a 3.5-month-old baby. Rescuers worked for about four hours to bring the fire under control," the TV channel said.

As specified in the article, the fire quickly spread up the floors. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. Firefighters, paramedics, police officers and emergency response personnel quickly arrived at the scene. All residents were evacuated from the building.

According to the TV channel, 39 people suffered from poisoning by gorenje products, seven of them were fire service employees. 26 victims were treated on the spot, and 20 more people were hospitalized in three medical institutions in the capital: Ankara Bilkent Hospital, Etlik Hospital and Gazi University Clinic.

It is noted that firefighters continue to work on cooling the building structures. The exact cause of the fire and all the circumstances of the incident are being investigated.

On July 10, a fire broke out on board the superyacht Sea Lady II located in the port of Saint-Tropez resort in France. It was noted that 30 specialists, two fire trucks and one boat were involved in extinguishing the fire. The fire engulfed the three upper decks of the ship.
