Tenants may receive a fine for uncoordinated redevelopment, improper use of the apartment, smoking or improper pet care. This was announced on July 12 by Dmitry Bondar, a public figure and housing and communal services expert.

As noted by Bondar, a fine can be obtained for redevelopment without approval, which will range from two to 2.5 thousand rubles under Article 7.21 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation. In addition, Russians are not allowed to use residential premises for other purposes. If there is an office or a hotel in the apartment that creates noise, the owner will be fined.

In addition, residents of houses can be punished for smoking in the entrance or at the garbage chute. For this, up to 1.5 thousand rubles are threatened, as indicated in Article 6.24 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation.

"However, if smoking does not occur in public areas, but within the apartment, there is no direct prohibition. Nevertheless, if smoke escapes outside your apartment, for example, through the ventilation system or during prolonged ventilation, this may be a reason to protect the interests of neighbors," Bondar told the Prime agency.

Even pets can be fined if they make noise at night. Owners can also be punished for non-compliance with the requirements for the maintenance of pets under Article 8.52 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation. If neighbors suffer due to unsanitary conditions, the fine will range from 10 to 30 thousand rubles.

Earlier, on June 11, Senator Olga Epifanova, the arbitration manager of the Ministry of Justice of Russia, reported that a fine of 80 thousand rubles could be imposed for violating silence in an apartment building. She clarified that for the first violation, the risk ranges from 1 thousand to 3 thousand rubles, the amount may double with repeated violations. For officials, the fines are higher — in Moscow, the amount reaches 8 thousand rubles, and legal entities can be fined 40-80 thousand rubles.
