In the Trans-Baikal Territory, the emergency regime, introduced in April amid massive forest fires in the region, was lifted. This was reported on July 10 in the press service of the Federal Forestry Agency on the website.

"By the decision of the government commission, the federal emergency regime in the Trans-Baikal Territory has been canceled," the head of the department, Ivan Sovetnikov, is quoted as saying.

It is noted that at the moment the forest fire situation in the territory of Transbaikalia is under control. At the same time, no active fires were registered.

The ministry clarified that the main causes of fires were violations of fire safety rules in forest areas, as well as dry thunderstorms.

The day before, it was reported that 665 forest fires had been extinguished in Transbaikalia since the beginning of the season, the fire covered 2.6 million hectares, while at the moment all fires have been eliminated.
