Even the most pro-Western government in Serbia would not accept recognition of Kosovo. This was stated by Milan Lazovich, Program Manager of the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC), at the Izvestia News Center on July 10 during a round table on the topic: "Political turbulence in Serbia: what will the protests lead to in the country?"

"None, [even] the most pro-Western government has agreed to recognize Kosovo. No one will do that — it's a red line that no one has crossed yet," Lazovich said.

In his opinion, the Serbian people are more conservative, so it is difficult for them to accept the agenda that is currently underway in the EU countries.

On July 4, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic called on protesting students and opposition supporters to abandon plans to lay siege to several cities, including Belgrade, warning that otherwise the authorities would be forced to take counter measures.

The news is being updated.
