Dmitry Patrushev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, visited the Kemerovo Region on July 9 and met with Ilya Seredyuk, Governor of the region. During the conversation, they paid special attention to the work of the Kuzbass agro-industrial complex and the implementation of the national Environmental Well-being project.

Patrushev called the Kemerovo Region a major producer of grain and oilseeds in Siberia and expressed the hope that adverse weather conditions would not seriously affect the final harvest.

"As for the activities of the environmental block. Kuzbass participates in the relevant national project. The government has provided more than three billion rubles for this until 2030. The funds will be allocated, among other things, for reforestation, reduction of harmful emissions into the atmosphere in Kemerovo and Novokuznetsk, development of waste management systems and rehabilitation of water bodies. We expect high—quality execution of all planned projects," he said.

The Deputy Prime Minister's working trip focused on the implementation of the federal project "Clean Air" within the framework of "Environmental well-being" at large industrial enterprises in Kuzbass. Patrushev visited the Azot plant for the production of mineral fertilizers in Kemerovo and inspected a workshop for the production of liquid carbon dioxide, a selective purification construction site and an engineering design center.

During his visit to Novokuznetsk, Patrushev got acquainted with the production facilities of the EVRAZ metallurgical plant. The Deputy Prime Minister visited the construction site of a sulfur and gas purification plant. It should ensure a high degree of purification of flue gases from sulfur dioxide and reduce its emission into the atmosphere by 70%. The complex is expected to be put into operation next year.

On May 27, Patrushev announced that in 2024, the government had allocated 682 billion rubles for the implementation of four state programs in the agricultural sector. According to him, these funds made it possible to preserve key tools to support the industry and ensure stable production. The total volume of grain harvested was almost 130 million tons.
