The French Foreign Ministry announced new sanctions against Russia
The European Union (EU) is preparing to introduce a new package of anti-Russian sanctions, which may turn out to be the toughest in three years. This was announced on July 7 by the head of the French Foreign Ministry, Jean-Noel Barraud, on the LCI TV channel.
"Coordinating efforts with American senators, based on French proposals, the EU is preparing to impose the toughest sanctions in the last three years," he said.
The diplomat clarified that the new economic restrictions will affect the Russian oil industry, as well as Russian intermediaries in other countries.
On July 2, the French Foreign Ministry allowed the EU to adopt the "toughest" sanctions against Russia in three years. The restrictions will be implemented in coordination with the United States, where it is expected that the next package will be passed by the Senate in the first half of July.
