Netanyahu announces Trump's nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has informed US President Donald Trump that he has sent a letter to the Nobel Committee nominating the American leader for the Nobel Peace Prize. Netanyahu said this on July 7 during a meeting with Trump at the White House, broadcast by the Associated Press (AP).

Netanyahu noted that this is a "well-deserved" honor for Trump. In turn, the US president noted that the nomination was news to him.

"From your point of view, this is very important," Trump told the Israeli leader.

The Israeli Prime Minister's meeting with Donald Trump will take place on July 7.
