The fact that Roman Starovoit, the former head of the Ministry of Transport and the former governor of the Kursk region, was found dead in the Odintsovo city district of the Moscow region, was initially reported by a source to Izvestia.

It was clarified that Starovoit's body was previously found in a private car with a gunshot wound.

What is known about Starovoit
Roman Starovoit was born on January 20, 1972. He became the head of the Ministry of Transport in May 2024.
Prior to that, since September 2019, he worked as the governor of the Kursk region, and before that he served as acting governor for a little less than a year. His term of office ended on May 14, 2024.
In 2012-2018, Starovoit headed the Rosavtodor subordinate to the Ministry of Transport.
He was awarded the Orders of Honor (2014), Alexander Nevsky (2017), and Friendship. He has a Certificate of Honor from the President of the Russian Federation, a commendation from the President of the Russian Federation (2012), and a Certificate of Honor from the Government (2012).
