Russia is open to resolving the Ukrainian conflict through diplomacy, and it should be about lasting peace, not a truce. This was announced on July 7 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to the Hungarian newspaper Magyar Nemzet.

"Russia has been and remains open to a political and diplomatic solution to the Ukrainian conflict. But it really should be about lasting peace, not a truce," Lavrov said.
