- Musk did not rule out his party's support for a presidential candidate in future elections.
American billionaire and entrepreneur Elon Musk announced on July 6 that his America party may support any candidate for president of the United States in the elections to be held in 2028.
"Support for the presidential candidate is not excluded," he said in a message on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
In addition, he added that at the moment this task is not the main one. In the next 12 months, the party's focus will be on the elections to the House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate.
On July 5, Musk announced the formation of a new political party in the United States called America. Later, on July 6, the entrepreneur's application for registration was published in the register of the US Federal Election Commission (FEC).
Retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel Earl Rasmussen, an American political scientist, told Izvestia on the same day that Musk's initiative might be needed in the country, but its implementation could take a long time. At the same time, the expert did not rule out that the party could play a significant role in politics, at least as a lobby.
