- Shor announced the participation of the Victory bloc in the parliamentary elections in Moldova
The Pobeda opposition bloc intends to apply for participation in the parliamentary elections in Moldova, which will be held in September. This was announced on July 6 by the leader of the opposition bloc Ilan Shor at a congress in Moscow.
"We are submitting documents next week to participate in the election campaign," he is quoted as saying on the association's Telegram channel.
According to Shor, the main goal for the bloc during the elections will be to "demolish the fascist regime" and hold early democratic elections in the republic.
At the same time, he clarified that the current Moldovan government would accept attempts to exclude Pobeda from participation. According to Shor, the list of candidates of the bloc for the parliamentary elections should be headed by the head of Gagauzia, Evgenia Gutsul.
On July 1, Bogdan Tsyrdea, a member of parliament from the Social Party, announced that the Moldovan authorities were making changes to key legislative acts in order to annul the outcome of the parliamentary elections in case of a loss.
Former Moldovan President Igor Dodon said on June 23 that the republic's authorities intend to cast 500,000 ballots in the parliamentary elections. According to him, the head of the European Commission (EC), Ursula von der Leyen, has set the republic's authorities the task of retaining Maia Sandu as President of Moldova.
