In the Syrian province of Latakia, unidentified gunmen opened fire near the church of St. Thekla, killing its guard. This was announced by Sham TV on Wednesday, June 25.

"A security guard at St. Thekla's Church was shot dead by unknown persons on a motorcycle," the Telegram channel said.

The TV channel did not provide other details of the incident.
