US President Donald Trump held a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in which he announced that the United States would no longer provide military assistance to Israel in the conflict with Iran. "Our American military did what we needed to do," a newspaper source quoted Trump as saying.

The Israeli prime minister was not pleased with these words, the source added. But he realized that the president wanted to see a turn towards diplomacy, and agreed to a cease-fire.

"I would not say that the prime Minister enthusiastically agreed, but he understood that President Trump would no longer take military part in this conflict," the source said.
