The head of AVTOVAZ called the Lada Azimut crossover the flagship

AVTOVAZ's first crossover, called Lada Azimut, is equipped with artificial intelligence elements, while its price is two times lower than for Chinese cars. This was announced on June 18 by AVTOVAZ President Maxim Sokolov in the Izvestia studio at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2025).

"This car will be the flagship, top—end, it will be saturated not only with electronics, but even elements of artificial intelligence are present, but the price range will not break away from the current price range," Sokolov added.

According to the head of AvtoVAZ, the new Lada Azimut has an upgraded Vesta platform, and it also differs in terms of performance, engineering solutions, design, interior and exterior from previous models.

At the same time, as Sokolov noted, car prices will be affordable for buyers. In addition, he recalled that at the moment the cost of Lada cars is on average two times lower than for cars from China.

The price and the start of sales of a new potential bestseller have become known.

On the same day, AvtoVAZ presented a restyled Lada Niva Travel SUV at the SPIEF. The car is distinguished by its front exterior design. In addition, this model has LED optics, redesigned bumpers, and a different grille trim.

The company also showed another novelty, the Lada Aura model in the taxi specification. The car is made in white with appropriate taxi stickers and "checkers" on the roof. At the same time, the interior decoration is black.
